What should we color with?
Crayons or colored pencils are suggested. Choose the closest shades you have; the color names are guides. For printables, use paper compatible with your printer and test your supplies first. Paperback paper performance has not been physically tested.
Are these animals all found in one tide pool?
The scenes draw on several Pacific-coast places. They are illustrated discoveries, not a checklist for one visit or a wildlife-identification guide. Place labels and source notes are included in the book.
Do all eight colors appear on every page?
No. Each scene uses a selection of the eight numbered colors. The same key keeps the guide colors consistent across the book.

Read the video description
After the title card, a numbered sea star, sheltered crab and octopus scene each reveal their guide colors from left to right. Prompts invite viewers to match a number to its color, spot the crab’s rocky shelter, and count visible octopus arms. A closing card suggests crayons or colored pencils for ages 6–9.
